Touch Singapore regularly conducts coaching courses under the framework of the Federation of International Touch (FIT). We are pleased to share that our foundational coaching course is now fully integrated with the Sport Singapore SG-Coach programme and is recognised as an SG-Coach Level 1 qualification.
This marks an important step in strengthening the coaching pathway for Touch in Singapore and providing coaches with nationally recognised accreditation. We are also working towards integrating our Level 2 and Level 3 coaching courses into the SG-Coach framework, creating a clear and comprehensive development pathway for coaches at all levels of the sport.
National Instructors & Coaches Association (NICA) was formed by the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) to be the collective voice to support freelance coaches and instructors from sports, outdoor learning and adventure, visual and performing arts, fitness and wellness, and enrichment, to strengthen skills, standards and opportunities.
In supporting NICA members with skills deepening programmes such as the courses offer by Touch Singapore, NICA members enjoy lower course fees through the Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP). UTAP provides 50% subsidy on the unfunded portion of course fees, capped at $250 for NICA members below 40 years old and $500 for those aged 40 and above.
